In any organization, there are situations wherein people are unable to put their acts together that usually results to failure or inability to achieve and deliver company expectations. These scenarios inevitably happens when the key people involved in an organization is incapable of building team spirit in their workplace.
Here are some techniques where every employee can help in building team spirit:
- Find a reason for working together. Think of how the success of the team project will be beneficial personally, to the team and the company. Determine what is it about the team goals and objectives that when achieved will bring satisfaction to every team member. Encourage and help others discover the answer for themselves.
- Show genuine interest and concern in helping and supporting the other team members. Fellow team members may withdraw and just leave others to participate in achieving team goals and objectives if they do not feel they are an integral part of the operations. Encourage participation of every team member and attentively listen to suggestion of others.
- Be determine and committed in achieving team’s goals and objectives. For a team to succeed, every member must feel that the group’s goal s and objectives are important and that their success as a team is as important as successfully completing a project personally..
A reminder to every team member: It is better not to wait for the team leader to take action – help by taking the first step personally.
Moving effectively is a skill that like any other skills can be improved through practice. Many people who move expressively get along well with others and do well at their jobs. To be able to improve ones personality in dealing with people, whether superior or peers, the following suggestions can be helpful.
- First, observe how an individual’s movement can help or hinder a sales presentation. Make a mental note of gestures that successful individuals make that are particularly effective or relevant. Begin to imitate these movements but adapt only on what are comfortable and effortless for you to imitate without being overly awkward when put into practice.
- Second, another technique is to hang on mirror near the phone you usually use. Notice the difference of your facial expressions when using the phone talking to a superior, a favorite client, a tough customer, a stranger and others. So much work is done on the phone so use that opportunity to improve on non-verbal performance while conversing over the phone.
- Third, role playing with a colleague is another better idea. Cite scenarios in handling different types of people of various personalities on how to approach, present, handling objections and closing of sales. Set up panel discussions with a few friends or co-workers and be ready to welcome their observations, suggestions and critics.
- Fourth, practice eye contact by looking into the eyes of your prospects, co-workers and acquaintances. Try to talk with your eyes properly coordinated with your gestures.
- Lastly, as the saying goes, “constant practice makes perfect” plays an important self-confidence building activity for your success.

When it comes to surviving the hard times we are in these days, proper management and of course resorting to various needs to weather the financial crisis we are in has become apparent. However, there are tactics being used to supposedly assist people and sadly, most of them are quite unethical and lack the etiquettes becoming of properly addressing the financial debacle that most people find themselves in.
One such act is called the IVA or the Individual Voluntary Act. For the record,
IVA is a debt solution that helps many people avoid going through the severity of bankruptcy. It’s a legally binding agreement with your creditors which usually lasts five years. During this period you pay back what you can realistically afford every month and the rest is written off, in settlement of your debt.

There are a lot of issues surrounding this recourse and a lot has been addressed by Debt Free Direct. Actually, Debt Free Direct has appealed to Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) regarding the condemnation of this act and hopefully something will be done about it. If you think about it, this recourse does seem tempting to consider. Especially if you are deeply saddled in debt, you can just imagine how far you can go as far as wanting to escape from the debt trap you find yourself in.
Consumers are already in a bind on their own. And while front end of this IVA solution seems to be a feasible way of addressing the situation, it remains that there are catches and hidden agendas supporting it. Debt Free Direct has made the initiative to ensure that such an abuse does not get out of hand, especially the ones who use advertising as their medium to make sure that they can have their way with the wary consumers.
There is no question that people would be glad to take on any assistance to get them out of the financial hole. But remember that in anything you get yourself into, you just have to be careful and study the choices and the future scenarios. Writing off debts a person has is easier said than done. But to ensure that they are free from liabilities in the end may pose some serious questions and this is what Debt Free Direct aims to clarify.
There are hidden terms to which people may not be totally aware of and sadly, this is one thing that supposed financial saviors intend to keep to themselves once they have capture the attention and gotten the financially unstable consumers under their wing.
New incoming U.S. President Barack Obama has his work cut out for him. Barack Obama officially become the first black President of the United States and also the 44th president overall.
Why does he have his work cut out for him? Well considering that this is perhaps the bad time to be placed into power, his first order of business is business. With a faltering economy, Obama needs to map out plans to help assist and save the US economy despite the various measures undertaken by the previous administration and finance groups. This is one of the worst scenarios the US has ever been and everyone is having a hard time.
He has contingency plans based on his aggressive campaigning in the past months. Now the people are waiting to see if he is indeed good as he says he is. All eyes will be on him but he has 74 days to plan it all out and then commence his plan for the country.
With the win, it puts a lid on all discrimination issues such as on whether the “U.S. is ready for a Black President”. Basing it on the votes, it looks like the U.S. is ready for Obama but is Obama ready for them!

“The American people have spoken and they have spoken clearly,” said McCain. “A little while ago, I had the honor of calling Senator Barack Obama to congratulate him on being elected the next president of the country that we both love.”

If you feel that you are down in the dumps today because of financial burdens, you are not alone. Many of us are feeling the heat of the continued oil price increases and it makes you wonder what started it all. Better yet, who started it all?
Given a couple of choices, we only have to look at the mirror. Yes, sad as it is to accept, we are the ultimate reason as to why oil has escalated out of proportion, becoming scarce and a need that is slowly going dry.
There should be no finger pointing at this point. Some people have thrown a dagger eye to US President Bush while others have attributed it to the wars going on around the world in countries such as Iraq and Iran. Let us say that all of the are indeed factors but itemizing them one by one won’t solve anything.
The best thing to do now is brace for the worst scenarios. Lifestyles are bound to change and businesses to flounder. It is perhaps the worst setting we have to deal with but we just have to make the necessary arrangements for now and get on with life at the best capacity that we can.
