A newsletter is a distributed periodical on a regular basis with the common features of news or events of one organization in which indicated the details for the events such as contact numbers and contact persons. Establishments that uses newsletter are the church, society, business and the likes. The few types of newsletters are e-Newsletter – in which delivered via electronic mail or email, leaflets and the newspapers.
Organization uses this as their marketing strategy. Companies send newsletter to the existing and prospective customers that indicate and provide company or product information to their customers.
A newsletter should have a consistent format in terms of headlines, text formats, photos, captions, stories and many more. The content and design should not be boring and ordinary to attract readers. Organized your words and eliminate some confusing, misleading and distracting words or phrase. It is also good to put some or a little surprises in your newsletter.
Here are some tips in making a newsletter:
- The most important thing to consider is the content that you are going to put in your newsletter. It should meet the needs of the reader or best if it will create a need to them
- Be consistent in your design, you can consider these in creating your design; the grids, footers and headers, templates and styles of your newspaper.
- Conservative newsletter is better than the loud one. It was more pleasant to the eyes of the reader and easy to understand.
- Use two kinds of fonts or the most is three.
- Moderately use frames, boxes and lines.
- The ideal use of photos or graphics per page is one to two only.
- The photos and graphics to use must related to the topic or content of your newsletter.
