A Guide to Employees
The word bondservant during the ancient days is comparable to the word employee today. They are of the same principle. The code of conduct for the righteous employee can be found running counter to present society, which has adapted the theme “my rights”.
Every employee is suggested to examine personal and work attitude base on the following primary requirements:
First is to submit to authority of the employer. The employee is expected to concede to the one in authority over him in a respectful manner, not with mere external service, trying to please the employer superficially. The work must be done sincerely, doing the best when being observed and when working alone. Refrain also for being argumentative when what is required is not pleasing to do.
The employee’s conduct must not be determined by the character of or the treatment by the employer. There are limitations to this submission, as when one is asked to perform a task that conflicts with conscience or what violates the law.
Second is to carry out the responsibility to the best of ability. Put the whole heart into the task being performed and experience satisfaction and joy in the accomplished goals. The care and diligence will be rewarded in intangible ways.
Third is to look beyond the employer and realize that there is a higher authority to whom every individual is more responsible.
The conscientious employee who works according to the aforementioned requirements has the advantage of reward from employer and a greater reward from the higher authority.
