$100,000 Business Plan Competition Announced

The Washington, DC Economic Partnership(WDCEP) in collaboration with Advantage Capital Partners and Enhanced Capital Partners will kickoff its $100,000 Business Plan Competition on April 6 from 6:00-8:00pm at The Washington, DC Economic Partnership’s office located at 1495 F St NW.

This competition, which is in its second year, will award one winner investment capital of $100,000. The competition’s qualifying process includes a written application and finalists will a present their plan before a panel of judges. In addition to the investment capital, the winner will also receive $10,000 worth of legal consultation from Venable LLP. The competition is open to existing and new businesses that are located in Washington, DC or will be by August 28, 2010.

“Small business can thrive here,” says Steve Moore President and CEO of the DC Economic Partnership. “We want to be known as a place where entrepreneurs bring their ideas and make them real.”

“This year we want to encourage in the business plan competition firms who have ideas and proposals for new government policy,” says Valerie Santos Deputy Mayor and Co Chair of the DC Economic Partnership. “We want to take advantage of our proximity to the federal government and bring attention to new ideas for policy and government solutions.”

Businesses are encouraged to apply online at www.wdcep.com/aboutus/sba.php ; completed applications are to be submitted to Washington, DC Economic Partnership (1495 F ST NW, Washington DC, 20004) by June 10, 2010.
