While advertising is a multi-million dollar business, many business owners (especially when just starting out) can’t afford most advertising options. It can be on the expensive side, and outreach many more modest budgets.

While there are many free and little cost options choosing among them can be a daunting task. There are more options than most have time to look into this very quick run down will show some of the easier sides to advertising your business.

If you have a location specific business, Craigslist can work wonders. You can narrow the options down to your area only. You can also opt into a social networking advertising network (among the better free options there are MySpace classifieds, which has had some positive results for a few business owners).

While the free option may or may not work for you is depends on where you operate out of. If you aren’t location specific, you may find that the options available for free aren’t going to perform well.

There is good news however, as you can find an actual advertising network to fit your needs. While your advertisement may not show up as often, and the price is keyword dependant there are extremely low cost options (especially in this economy) to suit your needs and budget. Many advertisers are in need of funding, so the cost is lower than it was before the economic crisis.

Among the favorites, and most popular are Google AdWords. While you can advertise with them for mere pennies, the price you are willing to pay is also how many times you will be shown. The less your willing to pay, the less your advertisement appears. However, you will be seen- which is also a huge goal.

Another great option is link partnerships. You can contact blog owners and request them to link to you. Some will require you to pay a small fee for this, which will be lower than many advertising options. this will also be a fantastic choice for being seen. You can also raise your page rank using this method(blog and blogger dependant).
