It is no secret that all businesses and people are suffering from the economic turmoil beset upon us and any form of aid and help would be most certainly welcome. The economic plague has reached most parts of the world and among the notable indicators point towards bankruptcy and unemployment rise.

Obama is asking that tax cuts make up 40 percent of a stimulus package, the people say. The measure may be worth as much as $775 billion, a Democratic aide says, meaning tax cuts may constitute more than $300 billion of the legislation.

Cadence, which makes door trim, instrument panels and air bag covers, filed for bankruptcy protection in August, but this month abandoned plans to sell itself and is now liquidating, according to court papers.

Now filing legal action is one thing but would it matter if the company has practically closed shop? What would you get from them if they have shut down operations already?

The Chevrolet Camaro car is their product line that is being threatened and without the parts on this line, a likely disruption is expected to ensue. If this were the case it seems like it is negating the initial aid that General Motors got and a big blow is likely to occur from their forecast and business outlook.

“Even one day’s disruption in supply of certain Component Parts could cause a shutdown of GM assembly operations, disrupting not only GM’s business, but the operations of countless suppliers, dealers, customers, and other stakeholders,” GM said in the complaint.

GM said that such a shut down could cost millions of dollars per plant per day and it would need to have a successor supplier in place by January 12 for the launch of the new Chevrolet Camaro.

Promises were made but it remains to be seen how it will all fit in. As we know, the auto industry is not the only one in the air of uncertainty. Prior to that, it was the banks, some of which have closed down. So what could possibly be next? Real Estate? Technology? Anyone among them can be next in line that would need financial bailouts as well.

So what were the specifics of the auto bailout? Here it is:

Under terms of the loans, the government will have the option of becoming a stockholder in the companies, much as it has with major banks, in effect partially nationalizing the industry. Bush said the companies’ workers should agree to wage and work rules that are competitive with foreign automakers by the end of next year.

A good deal or not? We surely haven’t heard the last of this one!

But all this would also depend on President Bush. He is expected to come up with a plan to bailout the embattled automotive industry and from the looks of it, everything will hitch on whatever he would announce this Friday.

If the bailout fails to push through, this one month shut down may eventually turn into a permanent shutdown as the big three has now found itself on the verge of filing bankruptcy except perhaps for Ford.

There were initial talks that General Motors and Chrysler would merge but nothing ensued after they had initial talks last October. From there, everything seemed to be hell for the U.S. auto industry as they try to figure out how to save their automobile industry from imminent disaster.

Along with the shutdown comes 46,000 union workers who are now placed in a spot if they would have a job after the said temporary shutdown. You can bet they are likewise awaiting for the Bush announcement and they can perhaps take it from there if they will still report for work come January 19 or not.

“Chrysler Financial finances 75 percent of all vehicles shipped to U.S. dealers, and we continue to support our dealer body with uninterrupted wholesale financing,” a Chrysler Financial spokeswoman, Amber Gowen, said.
